Sarah Lin’s performance unravels the weight of grief through raw physicality. Inspired by Death Cab for Cutie’s lyric, “Love is watching someone die,” Lin channels the loss of her father into Suicide Sprints. Amidst candles, she sprints a 50-meter walkway, filling canvas bags with soil until they weigh 130kg—twice a human’s weight. Each sprint, marked by her announced body weight, becomes a confessional, confronting regret and fear of closeness.

Through this visceral act, Lin transforms lifting into a medium of penance and strength, inviting audiences to witness the unseen burdens we carry in the stillness of night.
